An early 20th century pencil drawing on paper entitled 'From My Bedroom Window'. This landscape features an allotment or vegetable garden in the foreground, and a row of domestic houses in the distance. An accomplished sketch with good composition and lots of attention to detail. Details such as the washed clothes hung out to dry, blowing in the wind on a line held up with rickety-looking branches; a cat skulking down the rows of plants; the garden tools left in the ground; birds loitering on the telegraph poles; and the lone person outside his house looking back across the garden.

This piece has all the charm and wit of an Edward Bawden artwork, and cleverly draws you into the artist's view. There is a tear to the top of the sheet, but this is not overly distracting. Recently reframed with new mount and oak frame. Signed and dated 1932.
