A late 18th/early 19th century sepia watercolour sketch of a naval ship at sea. Pen and ink, with wash, on card. Some foxing and marks but a charming painting none the less. Based on the naive style, yet with attention to details such as the rigging and figurehead etc., this was almost certainly executed by a sailor, possibly sketching from another ship moored or sailing alongside this one.
