A lovely country-made pine box settle sourced in Cornwall. High panelled back with solid wood armrest sides, and original 'faux-oak' scumbled finish. The seat panels lift out to access storage in box base below. It has a great patina, showing wear and tear from over 150 years of practical use. Possibly made for a public house to shelter customers from cold draughts. Overall in very good condition and is perfectly sound. There is some 'old' repainting to the left-hand side, but this just adds to its character and history. Ideal piece of furniture for a large hallway, or fireside nook!
