A high hoop back Windsor armchair. Ash with fruitwood splat, beech legs and stretchers, and an elm seat with scribed edge line. The crook-shaped underarm supports dates it to pre-1840.
 
In lovely, unrestored condition with wear in all the right places, and a rich natural patina. Sturdy frame. The legs have been shortened at some point in its life, so that the seat height is now approximately 38cm.
