This wrought iron eel spear head is a rare survivor from a bygone age. This functional tool would have originally been mounted on the end of a long wooden staff, and used for fishing eel-runs in shallow rivers.

Each spear head would have been made by local blacksmiths, and therefore the shape and styles vary considerably from region to region around the country, making them highly collectable today.
