An intriguing portrait of a young woman wearing a brown dress or housecoat. There is a signature on the painting, but as of yet, we have been unable to decipher it.
 
The artist has managed to create an engaging portrait of the sitter. Her style of dress suggests a date from the early part of the 20th century, c.1910–1920.
 
The painting has been recently restored, and laid onto a new canvas and stretcher.
