Alfred Moginine Bryant was a well-known English painter of animals, particularly equine subjects. He was born in Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire in 1855, but by 1881, at the age of 26, he had moved to London to pursue a career as a professional painter and engraver. He had a very productve and successful career, undertaking commissions from landowners of their prize horses. He died in Hampstead in 1935.
