A late Victorian pond yacht in the shape of a fishing lugger. Wooden hull with lead-weighted keel, and linen sails. This piece has a lovely period look to it, having accumulated years of dust and dirt. The model has the name 'Laity' carved into the stern and bow. Laity is a common family name in Cornwall, so it is possible that the model was based on an actual lugger in the Cornish fishing fleet. There are a few historic repairs to masts and sails, and some losses to rigging. Comes with original stand.
