A pair of antique brass chimney ornaments in the shape of a pair of ladies' boots. Brass plate with stamped decorative detail. This particular pair have and additional 'pockets' to the back of them, which would have held handy vestas or spills by the fireside.
 
Every pair of these brass mantlepiece objects are unique as they were handmade by workmen using 'leftover' metals, to create one-off cheap ornaments for their homes.
