A naive handmade chimney ornament in the shape of a dog, possibly a hound. Simple cut-out silhouette in copper sheet, with a crude single rivet stand. Good natural patina to reverse where it hasn't been polished.
 
This would have been made to adorn and decorate a mantlepiece in a worker's cottage. A rare little survivor!
