A wonderful example of folk art furniture. This 19th century painted pine cupboard has been made to resemble a house, complete with glass windows, pitched roof and chimneys. It is said to have once stood beside a fireplace and used to store dried peat. This remarkable piece, still retaining most of its early paintwork, makes a strong decorative statement. It would work equally well as a practical display cabinet, or for storing shoes or books, or simply as a decorative object to be admired in its own right.
