A rare spelter inkwell, cast in the shape of a lady's head wearing a bonnet, with the plumes being hinged to reveal the inkwell's reservoir. An ingenious design. The lady's hat brim and her neck collar are dished, thereby creating a receptacle to store pen nibs and other desk accoutrements. Remnants of gilding to surface.
