A late 19th century schoolroom cupboard with a lovely patina. Pine wood, painted to resemble mahogany, the surface of which has now crazed with age, to a fantastic 'crocodile-skin' texture. Lower cupboard space with adjustable space, and upper (secret) drawer, disguised within the top moulding. Dated beneath the pen tray, 'September 1883'.
