An early carved wood pigeon decoy, made for the George G. Bussey Co. of London. This lovely example has their characteristic colourway and large glass eyes. Some damage to tail and beak, and evidence of old woodworm on the chest. Nice original condition with no restoration. Retail label of 'GGB' (George G. Bussey).
The Bussey Company was one of London's premier sporting goods dealers, founded in 1860. They closed in the 1940s.
