A particularly good example of a Pitcairn Island carved fish, by John Christian. It is a good size, with nice proportions, and a deep rich patina to the wood. Extra detailing such as the punched 'scales' and the slight curve to the fish's body, as though it were swimming, elevate this example above the usual. Historic repairs to tail fin.
