An Edwardian anchor-shaped shellwork diorama featuring a chromolithograph of a coastal ivy-clad architectural ruin. In front of this image is an artfully arranged display of shells, seaweed, and coral, creating a 3D effect to the view. In good condition, and ready to hang.
These shellwork dioramas were produced in the late Victorian/early Edwardian period as souvenirs of coastal towns and seaside locations, often bought by sailors to take home as presents for their sweethearts.
