A large sailor's woolwork, or 'woolie', of a British Naval frigate. A fine example with plenty of bright colour and tight wools. The condition of this example is very genuine, having been in the same West Cornwall home for many years. It has the original 19th century mahogany-veneered frame, and original float glass. Even the frame backing paper dated from the 1920s, having been pasted over the old Victorian brown paper. We have had to remove this paper in order to clean the glass and remove dust.
