An antique heart-shaped shell diorama featuring a chromolithograph of Edward VII, and his wife Alexandria, produced to celebrate his coronation in 1902. In front of this image is an artfully arranged display of shells and seaweed creating a 3D effect to the view through the hand-blown glass. In very good condition and ready to hang.
These shellwork dioramas were produced in the late Victorian/early Edwardian period as souvenirs of coastal towns and seaside locations, often bought by sailors to take home as presents for their sweethearts.
