A framed original letterpress theatrical advertisement for the Theatre-Royal Edinburgh for perfoemances on March 9th, 1833. The two productions featured that night are 'Presumption, or the Fate of Frankenstien' and 'Black Eyed Susan or All in The Downs', both starring 'Mr T. P. Cooke'. Mary Shelley's story 'Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus', on which 'Presumption had been based, had been published 15 years earlier, in 1818. Mr T. P. Cooke is listed on this flyer as playing the part of 'The Monster'.
