A unique 19th century boot scrape consisting of a lyre-shaped, blacksmith-forged, wrought iron blade, set iinto a slab of cut slate. The surface of the slate has been decorated with radiating 'bullseyes' of concentric circles. This type of folk art decoration is typical of the work of Welsh slate miners.

The boot scrape has now acquired a lovely weathered patination, the slate surface having accumulated patches of lichen and moss.
