An engaging postwar landscape painting by Hervey Adams (1903–1996), entitled 'The Barn Yard'. Executed in ink and watercolour on paper, this scene features old stone buildings, a covered wagon, a wheelbarrow, and a copse of ancient trees. The lcoation is most likely somewhere in the Cotswolds, near Adams home in Minchampton.
 
In my opinion, Hervey Adams is a highly underated artist, and is yet to be properly appreciated. Signed and dated '61 to lower left. In original limed oak frame.
