A striking oil on canvas painting of a boatyard in Poole, by the talented artist Edward D'Arcy Lister (1911–1976). One of this painting's strengths is its excellent composition, making the most of all the sculptural shapes beneath the keels of the boats. Lister's competant use of blocks of colour to create form can not only be seen in the props and bulidings of the boatyard, but also in the rolling cloud formations, giving the sky perspective. The painting is in superb condition. Signed and dated 'Edward D'A Lister/66', lower right corner.
