A postwar 'modernist' interpretation of 'St George and the Dragon', created as a relief-sculpted plaque, cast in brass. It was possibly an artist's maquette for a much larger version to be cast in bronze, as a commissioned architectural detail. Well-designed with a strong composition, and quite clearly executed by a competent hand. Lovely original patination to surface.
