A pencil and watercolour sketch on paper of a rural landscape, in subdued tones of sepia, black, grey, and green. Executed by an unknown artist, but competently done with an obvious mastery of the medium. The artist has cleverly mixed wet and dry brush work, with stylised singular marks, similar to those used by artists Eric Ravilious and John Nash. We have had it framed in a natural ash wood, to complement the neutral tones of this lovely painting.
