A modern abstract pastel and charcoal drawing on chalk paper, of what looks like a pair of sea lions. Signed initials to lower right corner, and dated 1953.

Although we've not been able to identify who the artist is, the influence on them by one of their contemporaries (Henry Moore) is clearly visible. There is more than a resemblance to Moore's 'reclining figures' that he was producing during this decade, as well as the drawings he had produced during the Second World War of Londoners sleeping in the London Underground while sheltering from the Blitz.
