A naive 19thc folk art oil on board painting of a horse’s head, inscribed ‘Drawn by T.Carter with his toes’. Painted on ‘Prepared Students Academy Board, Winsor & Newton, 38 Rathbone Place, London’. Board supplied by ‘H.Pullinger, Gilders and Colourmen, Union Street, Brighton’. One of 2 similar paintings by same artist available, and likely to have been painted in c.1896 (based on date inscribed on companion painting).
