An early 20th century carved wood Fenland waterfowl decoy. Despite its primitive shape, the maker has still gone to the trouble of doweling three sections of timber together, to create the body with separate wings. Still retains its original lead-weighted keel post, a device to keep the decoy upright whilst floating in water. The simple carving and the naive paint decoration give this item a wonderful naive folk art quality. It comes with a bespoke built stand for display.
