A rare Llanelly pottery bowl decorated in the manner of, or by, Sarah Roberts (Aunt Sal), with beaded edge. Some crazing and blisters to glaze, but otherwise in good sound condition.

The South Wales Pottery (Llanelly Pottery) opened in 1840, producing functional and decorative objects for the local market around Llanelli. Sarah Roberts (Aunt Sal) started working there as a paintress in 1880 and her work was recognised by its very free and naive style.
