A late Georgian watergilded gesso on pine pier mirror with possibly the best foxed glass we've ever seen.  The design of the frame is classic Regency style, with reeded columns topped by palm fronds, chinoiserie latticework frieze, and spherical dentil cornice. In sound condition, with a beautiful worn patina from 200 years of use. There is a small loss of gesso to  one of the palm leaf capitals. The mirror plate has foxed to a desirable smokey grey. Not ideal as a practical looking glass, but perfect for 'atmospheric' reflections of an interior. There is a scratch to the back of the mirror plate, showing as a white mark, but this could be restored.
