A shellwork diorama in the style of a Victorian seaside ssailor's valentine. The shell-encrusted starfish shape incorporates a glazed 'porthole' through which can be seen more shells and seaweed, as well as the sepia tone image of 19th century fishermen. Although not a period example, it has been skillfully made, and is highly decorative in its own right. Please note, there is a loose shell within the glass dome.
