A striking pastel drawing of a Jack Russell terrier by Peter Biegel (1913–1987), in its original contemporary oak frame. We have taken the artwork and mount out of the frame to clean the glass, and then resealed it. There is a small amount of foxing to the drawing.

Peter Biegel is best known for his equestrian paintings of racing and hunting. He studied at Bournemouth School of Art, and was a pupil of Lucy Kemp-Welch, and then Lionel Edwards. In 1950 he had his first solo exhibiition at the Rowland Ward Gallery, Piccadilly. A year later he had twenty of his paintings shown at the Festival of Britain Exhibition.

Pieces of his work are held in many public and private collections, including H.R.H. The Queen.
