A large pottery's experimental sample plate. This one features a series of transfer prints in different colourways and hand-annotated reference numbers, all beneath a clear glaze. This type of plate was usually destroyed by the factory after use, so this is a rare survivor. Annotated to reverse 'Mar 22'. One hairline crack to edge, and some brown staining.
