A splendid, scratch-built whirligig, featuring two portly gentlemen in top hats, wind-cranking a windmill. The main part of the automaton is made of steel, whilst the figures are brass which has weathered down to a dull patina. We have mounted it on a block of ebonised oak for display purposes, but it could be wind-powered or motor-driven.
