A superbly evocative hand-made sign advertising the merits of a provincial guest house. Fret-cut wooden letters mounted on a pine-panelled board. Double-sided so that it could be hung suspended at a roadside and seen from both directions. In remarkable condition for age, possibly in thanks to the multiple layers of paint on it which has made a thick protective crust over the woodwork. This would now make a wonderful decorative item for a kitchen or hallway wall.
