A bone china tea set produced by Rosenthal, designed by Raymond Loewy, c.1953. The birdcage pattern 'Papageno' is inspired by the German opera 'The Magic Flute' by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The set consists of six cups and saucers, six side plates, a single, larger, sandwich plate, a cream jug and sugar bowl, and a teapot. One of the side plates is slightly damaged.
