An extremely rare bench-mounting 'Walligraph' work lamp. Its design would suggest that it was made/commissioned for the Ministry of Defence in order to extend over large table top maps or charts.
 
It consists of a cast iron pedestal with the characteristic extending  'scissor-action' concertina arm attached to the top. We have tried to retain as much of the wear-and-tear to the lamp as testament to its original industrial former use. Rewired in braided silk-covered flex, to match the original cabling. It could be mounted onto a work top, bench, or a bedside table.
