A very fine example of a carved and painted wood pigeon decoy, by Harry Earnest Boddy of Walderslade, Kent. This is one of his full-body pole decoys, with all the typical characteristics such as a cast metal bill, screw and shoe eyelet eye, and beautiful wet-on-wet paint brush decoration. In remarkable condition for age, and so has presumably seen very little in the way of a working life!
