A very large carved and painted wooden head of the famous children's television character, 'Muffin the Mule'. It was reputedly sourced from a seaside amusement playground near Paignton in Devon. In the late 1950s/early 1960s, there had been a miniature ride-on railway system in operation which had a series of passenger carriages, each of which had a carved 'Muffin the Mule' as its figurehead. A lovely nostalgic piece in sound condition, with layers of original paintwork.
